NEW DELHI – The Securities and Exchange Board of India Tuesday extended by a month the scheme for stock brokers associated with "certain algo platforms" to settle enforcement or investigation cases against them by SEBI under the settlement proceedings regulation. In a public notice on Jun. 9, SEBI had said the settlement scheme would open on Jun. 16 and close on Sept. 16.
SEBI said Tuesday the extension is on account of "a number of entities" having shown interest in availing the scheme "during the last few days." The scheme, now open till Oct. 16, provides a settlement opportunity to stock brokers who were using, or are associated with, algorithmic trading platforms, which allegedly breached norms. End
