CEAT to pass on GST cut across tyre portfolio, reduce prices from Sept 22

MUMBAI - CEAT Ltd. Friday said it will reduce prices across its entire range of portfolio to pass on full benefit of lower goods and services tax to its customers. Earlier in September, the GST council had reduced tax on new pneumatic tyres to 18% from 28% and that on tractor tyres and tubes to 5% from 18% earlier. The revised prices will take effect from Sept. 22, the company said in a press release.
For the June quarter, CEAT reported a net profit of INR 1.35 billion on revenue of INR 35.21 billion. At 1039 IST, shares of the company traded 0.3% higher at INR 3,316 on the National Stock Exchange. End
