--Endurance Tech: Acquired a 8.9-acre plot in Tamil Nadu for mfg unit

HYDERABAD – Endurance Technologies Ltd. Friday said the company has acquired 8.9 acre plot in Kanchipuram district of Tamil Nadu to set up a two-wheeler and four-wheeler parts manufacturing unit. The leasehold plot was acquired from the State Industrial Promotion Corp of Tamil Nadu and intended to expand its manufacturing operations in South India, the company said in an exchange filing. Endurance is into the manufacturing of technology-intensive auto components, including aluminum die-casting products and engine parts.

Endurance Technologies is planning to focus on offering its products to two- and four-wheeler manufacturing companies operating in South India, particularly Tamil Nadu. The company also signed a memorandum of understanding with the state government to facilitate the desired investment, the company said without giving any financial details. Reports said the company may invest INR 40 billion on the proposed plant.

The company is evaluating to set up a manufacturing facility on the plot for the production of two-wheeler disc brake components, assemblies to meet the demand of original equipment manufacturers in that region.

At 1003 IST, Endurance Technologies shares traded at INR 2,891.40 on the National Stock Exchange, down 1.2% from their previous close.  End
