MUMBAI – CreditAccess Grameen Ltd. Tuesday said George Joseph, the company's chairman and lead independent director, ceased to hold office Monday upon completion of his second five-year term. Joseph has been a member of the microfinancier's board since 2015 and was a veteran with four decades of experience in the banking industry, the company informed exchanges Tuesday.
CreditAccess Grameen's net profit slumped nearly 85% on year for the June quarter, hit by a surge in impairment costs on its financial instruments. The microlender's net profit plummeted to INR 601.90 million in Apr-Jun from INR 3.98 billion a year ago. At 1050 IST, shares of CreditAccess Grameen traded 0.3% lower at INR 1,332.40 on the National Stock Exchange. End
