India, Israel sign bilateral investment treaty to bolster econ partnership

NEW DELHI – India and Israel signed a Bilateral Investment Treaty on Monday in New Delhi to strengthen trade and economic partnership. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman signed the pact on behalf of the Indian government alongside her Israeli counterpart Bezalel Smotrich.
The recently signed pact replaces the 1997 Bilateral Investment Treaty between the two nations. Other senior officials from the finance ministry, including Economic Affairs Secretary Anuradha Thakur, were also present during the signing ceremony.
India and Israel had bilateral trade of $3.63 billion in 2024-25 (Apr-Mar), which included exports worth $2.15 billion. End
