MUMBAI – Adani Electricity Mumbai Ltd., the Mumbai distribution arm of Adani Energy Solutions Ltd., has repaid $44.66 million of its outstanding bonds. The company has repurchased and cancelled $44.66 million of its $300 million 3.867% senior secured notes due 2031, it said in a release on Tuesday. The buyback, funded through internal cash flows, reduces the outstanding principal to $255.34 million.

"AEML (Adani Electricity Mumbai) may consider further liability management exercises, subject to market conditions, which could materially reduce outstanding debt across maturities," the release said. The move is part of the company's ongoing capital management plan, it said.

The company earlier completed $120 million tender offer in November 2023 and a $49.5 million open market repurchase in June under its $1 billion 3.949% senior secured notes due 2030. "These actions highlight AEML's strong cash generation and financial flexibility," the release said.

Adani Energy Solutions Ltd. had reported a consolidated net profit of INR 5.1 billion in the June quarter compared with a loss of INR 8.2 billion a year ago, helped by higher revenue from the transmission business and rising contribution from the company's smart metres business amid lower distribution revenue due to early monsoon. On Tuesday, shares of Adani Energy Solutions ended at INR 763.05 on the National Stock Exchange, down 0.5%.  End
