HYDERABAD – Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd. has recorded a 16% on-year growth in its cargo volumes to 41.9 million tonnes for August, led by increased container traffic, the company said in an exchange filing Tuesday.
On a cumulative basis, the company's total cargo volumes were up 11% on year at 202.6 million tonnes for Apr-Aug, mainly led by container cargo, the company said. Container cargo volume grew 29% for August and 22% on year for Apr-Aug, Adani Ports said.
Adani Ports' logistics rail volumes were up 8% on year at 57,347 twenty-feet equivalent units for August, while general purpose wagons segment volumes up 3% on year at 1.69 million tonnes. For Apr-Aug, the logistics rail volumes were up 14% on year at 297,766 twenty-feet equivalent units, while general purpose wagons segment registered a 3% on-year growth to 9.35 million tonnes.
On Monday, shares of Adani Ports ended 1.7% higher at INR 1,335.30 on the National Stock Exchange. End
