MUMBAI – Hero MotoCorp Ltd. Monday said it sold total 553,727 vehicles in August to dealerships in India and overseas, up over 8% from a year ago. The company sold total 501,523 motorcycles in August, 5% higher than 478,215 sold a year ago.
Hero MotoCorp sold a total of 52,204 scooters in August, up nearly 53% on year. In the domestic market, the company sold 519,139 units in August, up 5.5% on year. Exports for the month surged 72% on year to 34,588 units.
So far this financial year, the company has sold total of 2.37 million units, down nearly 2% on year. In the same period, the company sold 2.23 million motorcycles, down nearly 4% on year. Exports since April have grown over 45% on year to 136,359 units.
For the June quarter, Hero MotoCorp reported a net profit of INR 11.26 billion on revenue of INR 95.79 billion. On the National Stock Exchange, the company's shares closed at INR 5,244, up 3.1% from Friday. End
