UPI transactions surge 21% on year to INR 24.85 tln in Aug

MUMBAI – The number of Unified Payments Interface transactions surged to a record high of 20.01 billion in August, marking a 34% year-on-year rise, data from the National Payments Corp. of India showed. In value terms, UPI transactions increased 21% on year to INR 24.85 trillion in August.
The average daily UPI transaction count in August was 645 million, slightly higher than 628 million in July. The average daily transaction value was INR 801.77 billion in August, compared to INR 809.19 billion in July, data showed. End
