An upper air cyclonic circulation prevailing over the central parts of north Madhya Pradesh and adjoining areas of south Uttar Pradesh extending up to middle tropospheric levels is causing this rainfall. East Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh are also likely to receive isolated heavy rainfall from Saturday to Tuesday under the influence of the cyclonic circulation, with very heavy rainfall possible on Saturday and Sunday, the weather bureau said. Light to moderate rainfall across most places accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning is likely over the region in the next five days, it said.

Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, and Punjab are also expected to receive isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall from Saturday to Monday. Gujarat will continue to experience a spell of very heavy rainfall till next Friday, with extremely heavy rainfall likely on Saturday. Strong surface winds of 40-50 kilometres per hour are expected over the Gujarat coast during the next five days, the bureau said.
The northeast region will also experience isolated heavy rainfall, with Assam and Meghalaya expected to receive heavy rainfall from Saturday to next Friday. Arunachal Pradesh will likely experience isolated heavy rainfall on Saturday and Sunday.
In South Peninsular India, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Coastal Karnataka are expected to receive isolated heavy rainfall on specific days, with strong surface winds possible over the region during the next three days. Isolated heavy rainfall is expected over Tamil Nadu on Saturday and the same is expected over Kerala from Tuesday to Thursday.
