NEW DELHI – Amara Raja Energy and Mobility Ltd.'s subsidiary Amara Raja Advanced Technologies is in talks with two-, three- and four-wheeler makers for a tie-up for electric batteries in the mobility space, President Vijayanand Samudrala told reporters on the sideline of BNEF Summit on Friday. "There is no timeline yet but we are in talks as launches keep happening," Samudrala said.

The subsidiary recently tied up with Atul Greentech, the subsidiary of Atul Auto Ltd., for the development and supply of electric vehicle batteries and chargers. Amara Raja Advanced Technologies established its presence in the two-wheeler space last year through a tie-up with Ather Energy Ltd. to develop and supply nickel manganese cobalt and lithium iron phosphate lithium-ion and other advanced chemistry cells, which are used in lithium-ion batteries.

The company entered the three-wheeler mobility space with a tie-up with Piaggio India to develop and supply lithium iron phosphate lithium-ion cells and chargers for its three-wheelers. All of these batteries will be produced at Amara Raja Advanced Cell Technologies' Gigafactory at Divitipally in Telangana.

For the June quarter, Amara Raja Energy and Mobility reported a net profit of INR 1.94 billion, down 21%. Its revenue of INR 33.50 billion was up 7% on year. Friday, its shares closed 0.3% lower on the National Stock Exchange at INR 987.75.  End
