EPFO adds record net 2.19 mln subscribers in June, up 13.5% YoY

--Govt: EPFO net added 2.19 mln members in June, up 13.5% on year
NEW DELHI – The Employees' Provident Fund Organisation net added a record 2.19 million subscribers in June, up 9.1% on month and 13.5% on year, the labour ministry said Wednesday. In May, EPFO had added 2.01 million members on a net basis.
Of the net subscribers added in June, around 1.06 million came under the social security cover of the EPFO for the first time, up 3.6% on year. Around 639,000 new members aged 18-25 years were added in June, up 14.1% on month. The first-time members included around 302,000 females, up 1.3% on year, the ministry said.
The top five states accounted for over 60% of net payroll additions, or a total of around 1.35 million net additions, during the month. Maharashtra accounted for 20.0% of the net new members. The EPFO payroll data is provisional and subject to revision. End
