Export market's favourite Maruti Suzuki Fronx production hits 500,000 units

NEW DELHI – The cumulative production of Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.'s compact sport utility vehicle Fronx has hit 500,000 units since its launch 28 months ago, the company said in a statement Tuesday. Fronx was the most exported passenger vehicle from India in the previous financial year, in addition to being among the top 10 selling vehicles within the country in the period.
"This milestone reflects India's manufacturing excellence and customer acceptance for vehicles with futuristic design. With its bold styling, best-in-class fuel efficiency, and advanced technology features, FRONX quickly gained popularity in domestic as well as international markets," Hisashi Takeuchi, managing director and chief executive officer of Maruti Suzuki, said in a release.
Unveiled at the Auto Expo in 2023, the production of Fronx commenced in March of the same year. According to Maruti Suzuki. it is the first 'made in India' sport utility vehicle to be exported to Japan.
For the June quarter, Maruti Suzuki's net profit stood at INR 30.2 billion on revenues of INR 384.14 billion. At 1234 IST, its shares traded 0.9% higher on the National Stock Exchange at INR 14,187. End
