NEW DELHI – Info Edge (India) Ltd. reported the weakest quarter-on-quarter net profit growth in the last three quarters in Apr-Jun. Its sequential revenue growth was the highest since the June quarter of 2022-23 (Apr-Mar).

Info Edge reported a net profit of INR 2.6 billion, up 12% on year and 2% on quarter. It was also in line with consensus estimates. Its revenue from operations for the June quarter grew just over 15% on year and 7% on quarter to INR 7.4 billion. Consensus estimates had pegged Info Edge's top line at INR 7.3 billion. Info Edge said it saw steady revenue and profit growth on the back of past billings.

The company's billings for the period grew 11% on year to INR 6.4 billion. "Business growth moderated in Q1FY26 (June quarter). The recruitment segment was impacted by geopolitical headwinds and a sectoral slowdown towards the end of the quarter," Info Edge's Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Hitesh Oberoi said in a press release.

The company's operating profit grew 10% on year to INR 2.5 billion while its operating profit margin was 34%. Info Edge generated cash of INR 1.8 billion, up 3% on year. Its cash balance stood at INR 48.3 billion as of Jun. 30. The company's employee count as of Jun. 30 was 6,174.

SEGMENTAL PERFORMANCE

The billings from its recruitment business was INR 4.7 billion, up 9% on year. The segment earned a revenue of INR 5.4 billion, up nearly 15% on the back of strong momentum in the prior quarter, the company said. Within this segment, technology, information technology services, business process management, and others combined grew 8% while global capability centres grew 17%. Specifically technology, retail, healthcare, and manufacturing sectors registered a double-digit growth. "IIMJobs, Naukri Gulf and Naukri Fast Forward, also witnessed healthy billings growth of 41%, 18% and 15% YoY, respectively," Info Edge said in a statement.

99Acres' billings improved 17% on year to INR 940 million. "Billing growth in Q1 was driven by improvements in both the number of billed customers and average billing per customer," the company said. The segment's revenue grew 12% to INR 1.1 billion.

Billings of matrimonial platform Jeevansathi grew just over 36% on year to INR 350 million while revenues grew 29% to INR 340 million. Having reported an operating loss of INR 20 million in the year-ago quarter, Jeevansathi achieved operating breakeven in the quarter under review. The segment also generated cash of INR 60 million before taxes, contrary to INR 40 million cash spent by the company in the year-ago quarter. "Continued to build on monetization efforts to grow billings. More reasons for users to pay introduced in the quarter," Info Edge said.

Billings of Shiksha business grew 8% on year to INR 450 million while revenue grew 19% on year to INR 500 million. "Higher visa rejection rates for those aspiring to study in the US and a decline in job prospects for students abroad, have reduced student interest. Revenues from recruitment solutions grew 6% on quarter, while 99Acres' revenues improved nearly 5% sequentially.
