Eicher Motors' India July CV despatches up 6.1% on year, exports up 32.5%

--Eicher Motors Jul domestic CV sales 6,410 units, up 6.1% on year 

 

MUMBAI – Wholesale sales of commercial vehicles manufactured by Eicher Motors Ltd.'s joint venture VE Commercial Vehicles Ltd. grew 7.4% on year to 7,115 units in July, led by robust sales in both domesic and export markets, according to an exchange filing by the company. In Apr-Jul, VE Commercial sold 28,725 units, up over 9% on year. 

 

Wholesale sales of Eicher trucks and buses manufactured by VE Commercial Vehicles rose 7.7% on year to 6,940 units in July, led by growth in heavy duty trucks and small commercial vehicle sales. Of this, India despatches grew 6.1% on year to 6,410 units. 

 

Sales of small commercial vehicles grew 8% on year in July to 3,409 units. Sales of heavy duty trucks grew 12.6% on year to 1,692 units while those of light-medium duty buses fell 4.5% to 1,154 units. Despatches of heavy duty buses fell 12.4% on year to 155 units.

 

The company exported 530 units in July, up 32.5% on year. While exports of light-medium duty trucks increased nearly 34% on year to 320 units, heavy duty truck exports rose over 23% on year to 95 units. Bus exports grew nearly 37% on year in July to 115 units. VE Commercial sold 175 Volvo-branded trucks and buses in July, up 1.7% on year.

 

Eicher Motors has reported a consolidated net profit of INR 12.05 billion for the June quarter on revenues of INR 50.42 billion. On Friday, shares of the company closed 1.1% higher at INR 5,528 on the National Stock Exchange.  End
