HYDERABAD - State-owned NMDC Ltd. has recorded a 13% year-on-year growth in its iron ore sales volumes at 3.46 million tonnes in July, driven by improved demand from domestic steel mills, a source told Informist. Iron ore production during the month increased 42% on year to 3.09 million tonnes. NMDC has iron ore mines in Chhattisgarh and Karnataka.
The company's iron ore sales in Apr-Jul rose 14% on year to 14.98 million tonnes, while output increased 33% to 15.09 million tonnes, the source said. Apart from improved demand from domestic steel companies, favourable monsoon during July and the availability of rakes helped the company to achieve the volume growth, the source said.
On Friday, shares of NMDC ended at INR 70.46 on the National Stock Exchange, down 0.5% from its previous close. End
