MUMBAI – Bajaj Auto Ltd.'s two-wheeler sales in July were the lowest in seven months as the automaker dispatched 296,247 units during the month, lower than the 297,541 units it had dispatched in the year-ago period. While overall domestic sales slowed during the month, the company registered 3% on-year growth in total sales for the month, buoyed by robust growth in exports.

 

The company sold 366,000 units in total in July compared to the 354,169 units it had sold in the year-ago period. Its total domestic sales fell to 183,143 units during the month, down over 13% on year. However, the company exported 182,857 units during the month, up nearly 28% on year.

 

Under its two-wheeler segment, domestic sales came in at 139,279 units in July, down nearly 18% on year. However, two-wheeler exports surged 22% on year to 156,968 units during the month.

 

The company's total commercial vehicles sales came in at 69,753 units during the month, up over 23% on year. Domestic sales in the segment rose 4% on year to 43,864 units, and exports skyrocketed 79% to 25,889 units, the highest commercial vehicle exports reported by the company since November 2021. 

 

In Apr-Jul, the company sold 1.48 million units, up 1% on year. Its two-wheeler volumes for the same period were unchanged on year at 1.25 million units. However, commercial vehicles volumes rose 12% on year to 232,199 during the period.  End
