Cabinet approves multitracking rail projects with INR 111.69-bln outlay

--Cabinet OKs INR 17.52 bln for Dangoaposi-Jaroli rail project 
--Cabinet OKs INR 21.8 bln for Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar-Parbhani rail plan 
--Cabinet OKs INR 17.86 bln for Alaubari Road-New Jalpaiguri rail project 
--Cabinet OKs INR 54.51 bln for Itarsi-Nagpur rail project

 

NEW DELHI – The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs on Thursday approved four railway projects with total cost of INR 111.69 billion, the government said. The projects will cover 13 districts across Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, Bihar, Odisha, and Jharkhand, a government release said.

 

The projects will cover Itarsi–Nagpur rail project, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar-Parbhani, Aluabari Road-New Jalpaiguri line expansion, and Dangoaposi-Jaroli multitracking projects. "The increased line capacity will significantly enhance mobility, resulting in improved operational efficiency and service reliability for Indian Railways," the release said. 

 

These projects will help in transportation of commodities like coal, cement, clinker, gypsum, fly ash, containers, agriculture commodities, and petroleum products, the government said.  End
