MUMBAI - Quess Corp. Ltd. Monday reported an on-year growth in its net profit despite only a slight increase in its revenue as the rise in expenses was controlled at a level slightly below that of the rise in revenue.

 

Quess reported a consolidated net profit of INR 509 million for the June quarter, up nearly 4% on year. The company's revenue from operations for the June quarter was INR 36.51 billion, up 1.80% on year. The growth in revenue from operations was driven by a marginal increase in the general staffing segment.

 

Total expense of the company rose 1.6% on year to INR 36.02 billion, driven by a 2% on-year rise in its employee benefit expenses to INR 34.34 billion. Other expenses of the company totalled INR 1.47 billion, down 5.6% on year. The company's finance cost was INR 98.86 million, down nearly 7% on year.

 

The company's earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortisation was INR 700 million, up 10% on year. The EBITDA margin was 1.9%, up 15 bps on year and up 7 bps on quarter. The company has added 79 new contracts in the June quarter in the general staffing segment.

 

Global capability centre revenue contributed 73% to total revenue in the latest quarter. Quess is ranked as No. 1 staffing company is India for 2025 by Staffing Industry Analysts. The company has launched GCC-as-a-service 'Originit' to leverage India's GCC opportunity.

 

The general staffing business revenue was INR 31.22 billion in the latest quarter, marginally up on year. The company's overseas business revenue was INR 2.84 billion, marginally up on year, whereas the revenue from professional staffing was INR 2.44 billion, up 31% on year. The company's headcount in the general staffing segment was 449,112 with an addition of 2,000 in challenging market environment.

 

Shares of the company closed 2.8% lower at INR 293.90 on the National Stock Exchange Monday, before the company announced its financial results.   End
