AHMEDABAD – Commissioning of new green energy projects boosted sales and helped Adani Green Energy Ltd. report a 59.9% on-year jump in its consolidated net profit to INR 7.13 billion for the June quarter. Its revenue, excluding other income, increased 36% on year to INR 38 billion in the reporting quarter. In the year-ago period, the country's largest pure play renewable energy company reported a consolidated net profit of INR 4.5 billion, and revenues of INR 27.9 billion.
The company's revenue from power supply increased 31% on year to INR 33.1 billion in Apr-Jun. The earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation from power supply during June quarter increased to INR 31.1 billion, up 31% on year, and the EBITDA margin improved marginally to 92.8% from 92.6% in the year-ago period.
"During June quarter, we added 1.6 gigawatts of greenfield renewable energy capacity, bringing our total increase to 4.9 GW over the past year," Ashish Khanna, chief executive officer of Adani Green Energy, said in a statement Monday.
This is the third consecutive quarter in which the company recorded more than 50% on-year growth in its net profit. Its revenue also saw on-year growth for the fifth straight quarter.
Separately, in a statement, the company said its revenue, cash profit and EBITDA growth was primarily backed by robust greenfield capacity addition of 4.9 GW, deployment of advanced renewable energy technologies, and superior plant performance and deployment of new capacities at sites in Khavda, Gujarat and Rajasthan.
Adani Green Energy's operational renewable power capacity grew 45% on year to 15.8 GW on account of addition in greenfield capacity. The greenfield additions over last one year include 3,763 MW of solar capacity at Khavda, 1,050 MW in Rajasthan and 250 MW in Andhra Pradesh. It also added 585 MW of wind capacity and 534 MW of solar-wind hybrid capacity at Khavda.
During the June quarter, energy sales volume increased 42% on year to nearly 10.5 billion units, which is more than the energy sales volume for 2021-22 (Apr-Mar). The cash profit for the June quarter also jumped 25% on year to INR 17.4 billion.
On Monday, shares of Adani Green Energy closed 2.9% higher at INR 1,003.90 on the National Stock Exchange. End
