Govt sets Coal India's coal production target for FY26 at 875 mln tn

MUMBAI – Coal India Ltd.'s coal production target has been set at 875 million tonnes for 2025-26 (Apr-Mar), the Ministry of Coal said in a release. For FY27, FY28, FY29, and FY30, the company's coal production target has been set at 1.00 billion tonnes, 1.04 billion tonnes, 1.08 billion tonnes, and 1.13 billion tonnes, respectively, it said.
However, the country's total coal production had crossed 1 billion tonnes in FY25 and was at 1.05 billion tonnes. Of the 1.05 billion tonnes of coal produced, Coal India produced 781.07 million tonnes, according to the release. End
