Petronet LNG to invest more in first greenfield LNG terminal in east coast

--Petronet LNG board OKs INR 63.55-bln investment for LNG terminal in Odisha
NEW DELHI – Petronet LNG Ltd. will be investing more in its first greenfield liquefied natural gas terminal at the east coast of India at Gopalpur port in Odisha. The company said Friday in a stock exchange filing its board has given an in-principal additional investment approval for setting up of a 5 million tonne per annum land-based LNG terminal at Gopalpur from the earlier approval of 4 million tonnes per annum floating storage and regasification unit-based LNG terminal.
The incremental project cost will be INR 40.49 billion, the company said. The overall approved value of the project will become INR 63.55 billion, it said. The 5 million tonnes per annum capacity will be added in around three years, the company said. The cost of the project will be financed by debt and equity, it said.
Friday, shares of Petronet LNG closed down 1.9% at INR 301.75 on the National Stock Exchange. End
