--RBI: Govt nominates Econ Affairs Secy Thakur as RBI central board director 

 

NEW DELHI – The government has nominated Anuradha Thakur, secretary, Department of Economic Affairs as a director on the central board of the Reserve Bank of India, the central bank said in a release Friday.

 

Thakur's nomination has been in effect from Thursday. Thakur replaces Ajay Seth, who retired as secretary of the Department of Economic Affairs on Jun. 30, on the RBI's central board.

 

The RBI's central board has 15 memebers, including the central bank Governor Sanjay Malhotra, and deputy governors M. Rajeshwar Rao, T. Rabi Sankar, Swaminathan J., and Poonam Gupta. Nagaraju Maddirala, secretary, Department of Financial Services is another director on the board. Other members include Satish K. Marathe, Revathy Iyer, Sachin Chaturvedi, Pankaj Ramanbhai Patel, Swaminathan Gurumurthy, Anand Mahindra, Venu Srinivasan, and Ravindra H. Dholakia.  End
