MUMBAI – Sun Pharmaceutial Industries Ltd.'s subsidiaries--Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Inc. and Taro Pharmaceuticals USA Inc.--have settled an antitrust litigation case related to generic pharmaceuticals pricing in Pennsylvania, the US. The Indian company's subsidiaries will pay $200 million to "End Purchaser Plaintiffs" to release all claims against the subsidiaries, according to an exchange filing Thursday.

 

Sun Pharmaceutical said the settlement amount can reduce if "more than a certain percentage of the total insured class members opt out of the putative class". The settlement amount of $200 million translates to over INR 17 billion, which is nearly 16% of Sun Pharma's consolidated net profit in 2024-25 (Apr-Mar).

 

During FY25, Sun Pharma had reported a consolidated net profit of INR 109.29 bln on a consolidated revenue of INR 525.78 billion. Thursday, shares of the company closed at INR 1,692 per share on the National Stock Exchange, up 0.6%.  End
