Govt appoints former finance secy Ajay Seth as IRDAI chairperson for 3 years

NEW DELHI – The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has appointed former finance secretary Ajay Seth as the chairperson of Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India for three years, according to a government notification. The post has been vacant since Debashish Panda's tenure ended on Mar. 13.
Seth, a 1987-batch Indian Administrative Service officer from the Karnataka cadre, was the economic affairs secretary in the finance ministry since April 2021 till his retirement on Jun. 30. Seth served as the finance secretary between Mar. 24 and Jun. 30. End
