India submits ratification document of trade pact with European bloc

NEW DELHI – India has submitted the formal document of ratification of its trade agreement with the four-nation European Free Trade Association at Norway's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Indian embassy in Norway said Tuesday. India and the European Free Trade Association--which comprises Switzerland, Norway, Iceland, and Liechtenstein--had signed the Trade and Economic Partnership Agreement in March 2024. 

 

"With this all the five countries have submitted the original instrument of ratification, thereby preparing the ground for the treaty to enter into force within the next three months," the Indian embassy said. As per the trade agreement, the trade bloc with invest $100 billion in India and create 1 million direct jobs over the next 15 years.  End
