Govt extends deadline to submit application for export of pharma grade sugar

NEW DELHI – The government has extended the last date for submitting applications for export of pharma grade sugar to Jul. 31, the Directorate General of Foreign Trade said in a notification Tuesday. Earlier, the government had allowed submission of applications till Jul. 20.
The government on Jun. 18 allowed export of up to 25,000 tonnes of pharma grade sugar per financial year under restricted export authorisation. Pharma grade sugar is a high-quality sugar that adheres to specific pharmaceutical standards, and is used by drug manufacturers to ensure substances are free from contaminants and are of appropriate quality.
