MUMBAI – The Pantomath group Tuesday launched The Wealth Co. Mutual Fund. The new asset management firm filed four scheme information documents with the Securities and Exchange Board of India on the first day of getting its mutual fund license on Friday, it said in a release.
"We plan to initially start with three equity and two debt schemes and will look to target tier-2 and tier-3 cities," said Madhu Lunawat, founder, managing director, and chief executive officer of the new fund house, Wealth Co. Asset Management Holdings Pvt. Ltd.
The fund house is looking to begin with flexicap and multi-asset allocation funds, the management said. It has appointed Prasanna Pathak as deputy CEO, Aparna Shanker as chief investment officer – equity, and Umesh Sharma as chief investment officer – debt. The initial plan is to target 600 cities.
"We are looking at just valuations as of now. We don't want to give any number for target of folios or AUM (assets under management) right now but the more the merrier," Shanker said. The Wealth Co. is the asset management arm of the Pantomath group, which is an investment advisory with a background in capital markets. End
