NEW DELHI – The government has increased the base import price of gold by $24 to $1,078 per 10 grams, according to a notification issued by the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs on Tuesday. The base import price of gold was last revised on Jun. 30.
The government revises base import prices of gold and silver typically every fortnight, and these are used to calculate the duty on these precious metals that individuals bring into the country.
The base import price of silver has been increased by $95 per kg to $1,259 per kg. The base import price of silver was last revised on Jun. 30.
