--RBI appoints Kesavan Ramachandran as executive director
NEW DELHI – The Reserve Bank of India appointed Kesavan Ramachandran as executive director, effective Tuesday. He will look after the Department of Regulation (Prudential Regulation Division), the central bank said in a release Tuesday.
Jayant Kumar Dash was heading the division until Tuesday. Ramachandran was serving as principal chief general manager in the central bank's Risk Monitoring Department before his promotion.
He has over three decades of experience in areas including currency management, banking and non-banking supervision, training and administration, the release said. Holding a Master of Business Administration in Banking and Finance, Ramachandran has served as the RBI's nominees on the board of Canara Bank for over five years and on the Auditing and Assurance Standards Board of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India for two years.
