Banking Secretary Nagaraju asks private sector banks to augment infrastructure in rural areas

NEW DELHI – Financial Services Secretary M. Nagaraju Monday asked private sector banks to augment banking infrastructure in rural areas and the north-eastern region, the Department of Financial Services said in a post on social media platform X. Nagaraju also asked private lenders to participate more in the implementation of government scheme.
In a meeting to review various financial inclusion schemes with senior management of private sector banks, Nagaraju stressed upon the fast settlement of the claims under 'Jansuraksha' schemes, the post on the social media platform said. "Banks were urged to actively engage and extend support for three-month FI (Financial Inclusion) saturation campaign across all Gram Panchayats," the post said. End
