HYDERABAD – The Andhra Pradesh government on Thursday issued orders allocating 80 acres of land to Reliance Consumer Products Ltd. to set up a packaged beverages plant at Orvakal in Kurnool District. Reliance Consumer Products is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Reliance Retail Ventures Ltd. and a step-down subsidiary of Reliance Industries Ltd.

As per the order, a copy of which was reviewed by Informist, Reliance Consumer has proposed to invest INR 16.22 billion in the plant to make packaged carbonated soft drinks, juices, and drinking water. While the Andhra Pradesh State Investment Promotion Board approved the proposal last week, the state Cabinet gave its nod and issued the orders on Thursday, a senior state government official said. Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corp., the nodal agency promoting investments in the state, will provide the land at its Orvakal Industrial Park, the official said.

The Andhra Pradesh government has priced the land at INR 3 million per acre, totalling INR 240 million for the entire land parcel. The company will take possession of the land by Jul. 10, and the land registration process is expected to be completed by Jul. 20. The company has proposed to start construction of the plant by Jun. 15, 2026, and aims to begin commercial production by Dec. 31, 2026. Since the project falls under the mega projects category as per the Andhra Pradesh State Industrial Policy, the state government has also agreed to provide several incentives, the official said.

The beverage portfolio of Reliance Consumer Products includes brands like Campa, Sosyo, Raskik, Yeah, Spinner sports drink, and Sun Crush juice. The company has assured 1,200 new jobs to locals, according to the order.

On Thursday, shares of Reliance Industries ended 1.9% higher at INR 1495.30 on the National Stock Exchange.  End
