--JSW Steel files review petition in SC in Bhushan Power resolution case

 

NEW DELHI – JSW Steel Ltd. Wednesday filed a review petition in the Supreme Court with respect to the May 2 order, setting aside the company's resolution plan for Bhushan Power and Steel Ltd. The company disclosed this in a stock exchange filing.

 

In its order of May 2, the Supreme Court had ruled that the resolution plan for Bhushan Power and Steel was illegal and should not have been accepted by the committee of creditors. The court directed liquidation of the company in its order.

 

JSW Steel had at the end of May moved the Supreme Court to stay proceedings in the National Company Law Tribunal to liquidate Bhushan Power and Steel till it exhausted all legal remedies. On this petition by JSW Steel, the court had ordered status quo on the proceedings in the NCLT till the review petition was heard and decided upon by the court.

 

On Wednesday, shares of JSW Steel ended 1.7% higher at INR 1,024.45 on the NSE.  End
