NEW DELHI – The Securities and Exchange Board of India's board on Wednesday approved a proposal that will allow investment advisers and research analysts to use liquid mutual funds and overnight mutual funds to comply with deposit requirement rules. They can use these mutual funds in addition to bank deposits to comply with the norms, SEBI said in a press release.
Investment advisers and research analysts are mandated to maintain a deposit with a scheduled bank which would be lien marked to the Administration and Supervisory Body. Following the board meeting, SEBI approved use of liquid mutual funds and overnight mutual funds on which lien can be marked.
