Sitharaman may chair review meet with PSU bank heads Jun 27, says source

NEW DELHI – Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is likely to chair a meeting on Jun. 27 to review the financial performance of public sector banks, a person aware of the matter said. The meeting is scheduled in New Delhi at 1030 IST.
The meeting follows the Reserve Bank of India's move to slash the repo rate by 50 basis points to 5.5% last week, and change its stance to 'neutral' from 'accommodative'. The central bank also lowered the cash reserve ratio of banks by 100 bps to 3% of their net demand and time liabilities, in four tranches.
The finance minister usually holds a customary meeting with all the PSU bankers annually around this time to discuss their financial results for the fiscal year ended March. Besides the heads of the banks and Sitharaman, participants of the meeting may include Finance Secretary Ajay Seth, Banking Secretary M. Nagaraju, and other senior officials from the finance ministry. End
