MoSPI seeks feedback on draft schedule for FY25 Annual Survey of Industries

MUMBAI – The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation has sought feedback from stakeholders on the draft schedule for the 2024-25 (Apr-Mar) round of the Annual Survey of Industries, a key survey that provides insight into various manufacturing industries in the country.
The Annual Survey of Industries tracks the output, value added, employment, and capital formation of India's manufacturing sector, and provides inputs to the calculation of national accounts. The ministry had last held the Annual Survey of Industries for the reference period FY23, the fieldwork for which was carried out during November 2023 and June 2024.
The ministry plans to conduct the next industries survey during Oct-May for the reference period of FY25. The new survey will look to cover factories, electricity firms not registered with the Central Electricity Authority but involved in generation, transmission and distribution of electricity, and establishments manufacturing bidi and cigar.
According to the results of the previous survey, the number of people employed in the manufacturing sector rose 7.4% on year in FY23. The average wages paid to workers in the manufacturing sector rose 6.3% on year in FY23.
The ministry has sought feedback on the draft schedule for the FY25 survey within 10 days of the circular being uploaded on the statistics ministry website. The circular was uploaded on Tuesday. End
