SEBI announces settlement scheme for brokers linked to algo platform cases

NEW DELHI – The Securities and Exchange Board of India Monday announced a scheme for stock brokers associated with certain algo platforms to settle enforcement or investigation cases against them. In a public notice, SEBI said the settlement scheme will open on Jun. 16 and close on Sept. 16.
According to SEBI, the scheme will "provide a settlement opportunity to such stock brokers associated with certain Algo platforms, against whom proceedings have been initiated by SEBI and are pending before any authority or forum, viz. Adjudicating Officer/the Securities Appellate Tribunal/Courts." SEBI said by availing the settlement scheme, stock brokers will be able to expeditiously conclude such proceedings. End
