M&M total May vehicle sales volume 80,458, dn 0.4% on month, up 17% on year

NEW DELHI – Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.'s all-vehicle sales in May declined slightly on a month-on-month basis. The company manufactured 4.4% more vehicles in the month at 89,626, as compared to April, according to a report filed by the automotive company with the stock exchanges Friday and the previous month's report filed in early May. Of these, it sold 0.4?wer vehicles at 80,458 and exported 8% more vehicles at 3,652, compared to April.
On a year-on-year basis, the company's vehicle production volume rose 28%, sales volume increased 17%, and exports jumped up 37%. The production, sales, and exports numbers of the company include cars, vans, three-wheeler passenger and goods vehicles, and commercial vehicles.
Scorpio was the company's largest selling car in May. Combining diesel and petrol variants, Mahindra & Mahindra sold 14,401 Scorpios, down from 15,534 in April but up from 13,717 a year ago.
The company's second highest-selling car in the month was Thar and Thar Roxx. Across diesel and petrol variants of Thar and Thar Roxx, it sold 10,389 units, down from 10,703 in April but up from 5,750 in May 2024.
M&M sold 8,942 units of the Bolero, which comes with only a diesel powertrain, in May, up from 8,380 a month ago and 8,026 a year ago. The automobile major sold 21,392 commercial vehicles, down from 22,989 in April, but up from 19,826 units in May last year.
Friday, shares of M&M ended 2.1% higher at INR 3,106.50 on the National Stock Exchange. End
