Maruti Suzuki expands solar power capacity at Kharkhoda, Manesar units

NEW DELHI – Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. Wednesday said it has expanded solar power capacity at its Kharkhoda and Manesar units by 20 megawatt peak and 10 megawatt peak, respectively. With this, the total solar capacity of the Gurugram-based automotive giant's production facilities has increased to 79 megawatt peak from 49 megawatt peak in the last one year, the company said in an exchange filing.
By 2030-31 (Apr-Mar), Maruti Suzuki targets to increase overall solar capacity to 319 megawatt peak at an investment of INR 9.25 billion. For the quarter ended March, Maruti Suzuki had posted a net profit of iNR 37.11 billion on revenue of INR 406.74 billion. At 1022 IST, shares of the company were at INR 12,226 on the National Stock Exchange, up 0.8%. End
