HYDERABAD – Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd. Friday reported a consolidated net profit of INR 3.9 billion for March quarter, up 53.5% on year and 4.7% on quarter, which was above analysts' estimates. The Chennai-based healthcare services and pharmacy retailing company reported a 13% on year and a 1.2% sequential growth in its consolidated revenue from operations to INR 55.9 billion for the quarter, in line with the estimates. Analysts had estimated Apollo Hospitals' March quarter net profit at INR 3.64 billion on a revenue of INR 55.8 billion.

 

The company reported over 10% on-year growth in its healthcare services or hospital business to INR 28.43 billion. Healthcare services, comprising of network of hospitals contribute over 51% of the company's total revenue. As of Mar. 31, Apollo Hospitals had a total of 8,025 operating beds across the network and the occupancy for the quarter improved to 67% from 65% a year ago, the company said in a press release.

 

Apollo Hospitals' March quarter consolidated earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortisation were up 20% on year at INR 7.70 billion, marginally above the expectations of INR 7.65 billion. Healthcare services segment's EBITDA for the quarter was up 16% on year to INR 6.86 billion, helping the company report healthy earnings growth for the quarter. 

 


Apollo HealthCo Ltd, a subsidiary of Apollo Hospitals and holding company of pharmacy retailing, distribution and digital platform Apollo 24/7, reported a 17% on-year growth in in revenues to INR 23.8 billion. The subsidiary's EBITDA for the quarter improved to INR 363 million from 117 million a year ago.


Apollo HealthCo added 266 new Apollo Pharmacy stores in March quarter, taking the total store count to 6,626. The gross merchandise value booked on Apollo 24/7 platform was up 11% on year at INR 7.95 billion for the quarter. The average order intake on the digital platform improved to INR 83,000 per day in the March quarter from INR 58,000 a year ago.


Another arm, Apollo Health & Lifestyle Ltd., which operates diagnostics and clinics under Apollo brand reported a revenue of INR 3.94 billion, up 11% on year, while its EBITDA rose 32% on year to INR 472 million.


For 2024-25 (Apr-Mar), Apollo Hospitals reported a consolidated net profit of INR 14.46 billion, up 61%, and revenue rose 14% on year to INR 217.94 billion. The company's board today approved INR 10 per share as final dividend. Friday, Apollo Hospitals' shares ended at INR 6,880.50 on the National Stock Exchange, down 0.6% from its previous close.  End
