NEW DELHI – An all-party delegation Tuesday sought Singapore's support in fight against terrorism at multilateral forums Financial Action Task Force and United Nations, the ministry of External Affairs said. The delegation led by Janata Dal (United) leader Sanjay Jha met Singapore's Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Home Affairs Sim Ann and briefed her on India's firm stance against terrorism in the aftermath of Pahalgam terrorist attack and Operation Sindoor, and also requested for support at the Financial Action Task Force and the UN.

The delegation's request for support at the multilateral fora came amid Indian government's decision to push for re-inclusion of Pakistan in the grey list of the Financial Action Task Force. According to a government source, the government will push to include Pakistan in the grey list of the global money laundering and terrorist financing watchdog during its next meeting, likely in June. The Financial Action Task Force excluded Pakistan from the list of countries under increased monitoring or grey list in October 2022.

The delegation members conveyed to Singapore side that Operation Sindoor has carved out a new benchmark in India's fight against terrorism, the ministry of external affairs said. If there is a terrorist attack, India will give fitting reply and will not tolerate any nuclear blackmail, the delegation told Singapore minister.

Minister Sim Ann conveyed to the delegation that Singapore strongly condemns all acts of terrorism and stands with India against terrorism. She remarked that Singapore and India are close partners and will continue efforts to further strengthen bilateral cooperation.

India launched Operation Sindoor in retaliation to Pahalgam attack on May 7 and destroyed terrorist camps at nine locations in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. On Apr. 26, Pakistan-based terrorists killed 26 people, mainly tourists, in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam, escalating tensions between two nuclear armed neighbours. Both the sides arrived at an understanding to stop firing and military actions on May 10.

Over a week after the cessation of firing, the Indian government constituted seven all-party delegations for diplomatic outreach on Operation Sindoor and to expose Pakistan's involvement in nurturing terrorism. The delegations were tasked with engaging key partner countries, including members of the UN Security Council, to showcase India's continued fight against terrorism. End
