Foreign secy briefs 4 all-party delegations on diplomatic outreach on terror

NEW DELHI – Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri on Friday briefed four multi-party delegations travelling abroad as part of the country's diplomatic outreach on Operation Sindoor and to convey India's strong resolve against terrorism. Misri briefed the delegations led by Congress leader Shashi Tharoor, Bharatiya Janata Party leaders Ravi Shankar Prasad and Baijayant Panda, and Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar) leader Supriya Sule about the message to be delivered to the countries they are scheduled to travel.
Following the meeting, Tharoor, who will lead the delegation to the US and four other countries, said the idea was to communicate very clearly to all our external interlocutors about the horrendous terrorism to which India has been subject to since at least 1989 from across the border. Accordign to Tharoor, the members of the delegation will explain what is happening with India and how it will deal with these terrorist attack in the future. The delegation would also sensitise public opinion as well as government opinion along with legislative opinion on India's stance against terrorism in each of these countries, he said.
India constituted seven multi-party delegations to engage key partner countries, including members of the UN Security Council, as part of the country's diplomatic outreach on Operation Sindoor. The delegations are tasked with projecting India's approach to combating terrorism in all forms and manifestations, and to expose Pakistan's involvement in nurturing terrorists.
Three delegation led by Janata Dal (United) leader Sanjay Jha, Shiv Sena leader Shrikant Shinde and Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam's Kanimozhi Karunanidhi held meeting with leaders in Japan, United Arab Emirates and Russia, respectively, and conveyed India's stance on terrorism. The delegations comprise members of Parliament from different parties, prominent political personalities, and distinguished diplomats.
India launched Operation Sindoor on May 7 in retaliation to the terrorist attack in Pahalgam. The country's armed forces struck terrorist camps at nine locations in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. The government has claimed that at least 100 terrorists were killed in the strikes. End
