PM Modi visits Rajasthan, inaugurates infra projects worth over INR 260 bln

NEW DELHI – Prime Minister Narendra Modi Thursday inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for multiple infrastructure and power projects worth over INR 260 billion. Addressing a mega rally in Rajasthan's Bikaner, the prime minister said his government has been working at an unprecedented speed to modernise roads, railways and airports of the country. He also said that the Centre's spending on infrastructure projects has seen a six-fold increase.
Modi inaugurated the redeveloped Deshnoke Station under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme and also flagged-off the Bikaner-Mumbai express train. Further, Modi inaugurated 103 redeveloped Amrit stations in 86 districts across 18 states and Union Territories developed at a cost of over INR 11 billion. He also laid the foundation stone for several railway lines. "We are modernising more than 1,300 railway stations; more than 100 of these Amrit Bharat stations are ready today," the prime minister said.
In a major boost to road infrastructure in Rajasthan, Prime Minister Modi laid the foundation stone for construction of three vehicle underpasses, widening and strengthening of national highways. He also dedicated seven roadways projects in Rajasthan worth over INR 48.50 billion.
The prime minister also inaugurated and laid foundation stone for several solar power projects in Rajasthan to provide clean energy and reduce carbon emission. Modi also dedicated several electric railway lines to the country. He laid the foundation stone of solar projects at Bikaner and Nawa in Didwana Kuchaman, and Transmission Systems for Evacuation of Power Part B PowerGrid Sirohi Transmission Ltd. and Part E PowerGrid Mewar Transmission Ltd. Modi inaugurated solar project at Bikaner, transmission system for evacuation of PowerGrid Neemuch and from Bikaner complex, augmentation of transformation capacity at Fatehgarh-II Power Station which will provide clean energy and reduce carbon emission.
