India Mar outstanding NRI deposits $164.68 bln, up $12.8 bln on year

MUMBAI – Outstanding deposits by non-resident Indians rose to $164.68 billion at the end of March, up by $12.80 billion from a year ago, according to provisional data released by the Reserve Bank of India on Wednesday. The outstanding NRI deposits at the end of February were $160.34 billion.
Deposits under the Non-Resident (External) Rupee Account were $100.73 billion at the end of March, up from $98.62 billion a year ago and $97.94 billion a month ago. Outstanding deposits under the Foreign Currency Non-Resident (B) rose to $32.81 billion at the end of March from $32.49 billion a month ago. End
