NEW DELHI - Department of Financial Services Secretary M. Nagaraju Monday chaired a review meeting with India Infrastructure Finance Co. Ltd., where he advised the company to diversify its portfolio.

"Secretary, DFS (Department of Financial Services) advised that the IIFCL should focus on diversification of its portfolio across various sub-sectors of infrastructure segment and continue to ensure the asset quality of its portfolio," the department said in a post on social media platform X, formerly Twitter. IIFCL Managing Director P.R. Jaishankar also attended the meeting.

IIFCL earlier this month reported a net profit of INR 21.65 billion for 2024-25 (Apr-Mar), up 39% on year. The company's disbursements in FY25 were INR 285 billion, while sanctions were at INR 511.24 billion.

Jaishankar has previously said that IIFCL will focus on lending to the infrastructure sector, and also broaden its presence in allied sectors, including affordable housing. "We are interested in foraying into the affordable housing sector with projects in the private-public partnership mode," the MD had said at a press conference on May. 8.  End
