NEW DELHI – India's foreign exchange reserves climbed to more than seven-month high of $690.62 billion, up $4.55 billion from the previous week, as of May 9, mainly due to a rise in the Reserve Bank of India's gold reserves, data released by the RBI on Friday showed.

The value of the RBI's gold holdings touched an all-time high of $86.34 billion, up by $4.52 billion from the previous week. Foreign currency assets as of May 9 were at $581.37 billion, up just $196 million.
