MUMBAI – Eicher Motors Ltd. reported record consolidated top line and bottom line for the March quarter, driven by robust despatches of motorcycles and commercial vehicles. Eicher Motors' consolidated net profit for the quarter rose 27% on year to INR 13.6 billion, sharply higher than the analysts' estimate of INR 12.2 billion. The automobile maker's revenue for the March quarter rose 23% year-on-year to INR 52.41 billion. 

 

The year-on-year profit growth was the highest in the last five quarters, while revenue growth was the highest in nine quarters. The growth in earnings was driven by an 11% growth in its commercial vehicle sales and a 24% rise in its Royal Enfield motorcycle sales in the March quarter. Overall, the company despatched 311,498 units in the quarter-ended March, up 23% from a year ago.

 

Eicher Motors sells commercial vehicles through VE Commercial Vehicles Ltd, a joint venture with Swedish automotive major Volvo Group. Its share of profit in the joint venture for the March quarter was INR 2.5 billion, up 88% on year. 

 

Eicher Motors' other income for the March quarter increased nearly 25% on year to INR 3.8 billion. Sequentially, it grew around 32%.

 

Its earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation for the reporting quarter was INR 12.6 billion, up 11.4% on year. The company recorded its highest ever revenue, EBITDA, and profit in the March quarter and in 2024-25 (Apr-Mar), it said in a press release.


Eicher Motors reported a net profit of INR 47.3 billion in FY25, up 18%. The revenue from operations rose 14% to INR 188.7 billion during the year. Eicher Motors' EBITDA for the year was INR 47.1 billion, up 9% on year.

 

Share of profit from VE Commercial Vehicles was INR 7 billion, up 56% from the previous year. Revenue from VE Commercial Vehicles for FY25 was INR 235.5 billion, nearly 8% higher from the previous year. EBITDA for this segment in FY25 was INR 20.2 billion. 

 

Expenditure Profile

Eicher Motors incurred total expenses of INR 42 billion in the March quarter, up 27% on year. Cost of raw material and components consumed, which account for about 64% of total expenses, 24% on year to INR 26.9 billion.

 

The other expenses, the next highest expenditure, increased 35% on year to INR 7.1 billion. Employee benefits expenses for the reporting quarter was at INR 3.5 billion, up nearly 7% from the corresponding period a year ago. Depreciation and amortisation expenses grew 22% to INR 2.0 billion, while finance costs remained largely unchanged at INR 155 million.

 

The board of Eicher Motors declared a final dividend of INR 70 per share for FY25. 

 

Wednesday, shares of Eicher Motors closed at INR 5,446.50 on the National Stock Exchange, up 0.5%. The company disclosed its March quarter earnings after markets hours. End
