NEW DELHI - Lauding Indian defence forces for striking terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir last week, Prime Minister Narendra Modi Tuesday said there was no safe haven left for terrorists in Pakistan. Indian defence forces will hunt them down and "kill them in their homes", if needed, the prime minister said addressing the armed forces personnel at Adampur Air Base in Punjab.

With his visit to the Adampur base and sharing his pictures with S-400 air defence system in the background, Modi quashed Pakistan's claims that it had destroyed the air defence system and caused damages to the air base. In a clear message to Pakistan, the prime minister said India would not differentiate between terrorists and the terrorist-harbouring government. He underlined India will not tolerate any nuclear blackmails and will respond decisively to any further terrorist attacks.

The prime minister lauded the armed forces for precision and speed with which they attacked terrorist camps, "leaving the enemy dumb-founded". Indian forces conducted the Operation Sindoor, hitting the terrorist camps and killing them within 20-25 minutes, Modi said. Hailing the success of the operation, Modi said it demolished Pakistan's evil motives and boosted India's pride and confidence.

Indian armed forces launched Operation Sindoor on May 7 and struck at terrorist camps at nine locations in Pakistan and

Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

The prime minister acknowledged the role of India's cutting-edge defence infrastructure in thwarting Pakistan's drones and missile attacks. Pakistan's drones, aircraft, and missiles couldn't stand up to India's might, he said, adding attacks could not harm Indian military infrastructure. The Indian Air Force fought Pakistan with drones and data, he said, appreciating the coordination between the Army, Navy and Air Force.

Criticising Pakistan for using civilian aircraft as a shield, he said that India was careful to not attack them while responding to Islamabad's intrusion. Modi added that the military action has just been paused and a befitting reply to Pakistan will be given for any further misadventure. New India yearns for peace but can make the enemy bite the dust in war, he said, adding it is imperative to keep reminding the enemy this is a new India.

India had on Wednesday launched Operation Sindoor in retaliation to the terrorist attack in south Kashmir's Pahalgam in which 26 people were killed on Apr. 22. Following India's strikes, Pakistan resorted to artillery shelling along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir and also launched drone attacks at multiple civilian as well as military locations in Gujarat, Punjab, Rajasthan and Jammu and Kashmir. After over three days of hostilities, both the countries arrived at an understanding to stop firing and military actions on Saturday. However, Pakistani drones were spotted at multiple locations in Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab despite Islamabad agreeing to stop firing.  End
