--Govt: 32 airports, shut amid India-Pak tensions, to resume ops immediately

NEW DELHI – The Airports Authority of India has resumed operations at the 32 airports that were temporarily closed amid the

India-Pakistan conflict, the Ministry of Civil Aviation said in a release. The government had earlier announced suspension of airline services from May 9 till 05:29 hours on May 15 due to evolving circumstances and dynamic airspace conditions.

Operations were suspended in several key airports in northern and western India, including Srinagar, Jammu, Amritsar, Jodhpur, Kandla and Chandigarh. The Airports Authority has advised travellers to check flight status directly with their respective airlines and monitor official airline websites for the latest updates, the release said.

The decision to shut these airports came in view of the Operation Sindoor launched by India, targeting nine terror sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, in retaliation for the Pahalgam terrorist attack in which 26 people were killed on

Apr. 22.  End
