NEW DELHI - The Director General of Military Operations and equivalent officers from Indian Navy and Airforce will brief the media about the developments of Operation Sindoor at 1430 IST Monday. The presser comes in the aftermath of scheduled talks of Director Generals of Military Operations from India and Pakistan. The talks between Director Generals of Military Operations were scheduled for 1200 IST.
Indian armed forces launched Operation Sindoor on Wednesday in retaliation to the Pahalgam terrorist attack last month in which 26 people were killed. Indian forces struck at terrorist camps at nine locations in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Pakistan responded to the Indian strikes with heavy artillery shelling along the Line of Control and drone and missile intrusion in Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan and Gujarat. Pakistan forces attempted civilian as well as military installations in India.
After over three days of hostilities in which 35-40 Pakistan army personnel and five Indian soldiers along with around 16 civilians lost lives, both sides arrived on an understanding to stop military actions effective Saturday 1700 IST. However, the Pakistan forces violated the understanding with firing along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir and drone intrusion at multiple locations in India on Saturday night. According to reports, Pakistan armed forces violated ceasefire along the Line of Control on Sunday as well. End
